BENNY THATCHER
Benny is an ARIA-nominated artist.
He is an award-winning early childhood educator with a career spanning over 30 years. Benny holds a diploma in Early Childhood Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in Music.
As a performer, he has shared the stage with the likes of Justine Clarke, The Wiggles, Teeny Tiny Stevies and was nominated for a 2022 ARIA award for best children’s album.
He is the director of Major Minor Music Australia, an organisation which Champions and Celebrates Australian Music for Children and is also responsible for Australia’s first dedicated awards for children’s music called the MMMA’s (Ma’s) sponsored by ABC and APRA
In addition, he runs ‘We Wrote That’, a group created to allow children and young adults living with Chronic illness the opportunity to represent themselves through the creative arts and music.
